Mart Blom

I started my career as a classical singer. I completed my vocal studies  at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, and worked until 2004 as a professional singer.

Due to an unsuccessful operation on my vocal cords, I was forced to choose a different direction in my life. My fascination for human interaction and individual development led me to further my studies in haptotherapy at the Instituut voor Toegepaste Haptonomie, where I graduated in 2010. Haptotherapy is a form of body-mind oriented therapy.

For a number of years I worked as a haptotherapist for musicians and non-musicians in my own practice in Amsterdam and I became a teacher of stage awareness at the ArtEZ Conservatoire.

As a performance coach I worked with musicians from the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest, Rotterdams Philharmonisch Orkest, Het Balletorkest and Philharmonie zuidnederland as well as with students of multiple Dutch conservatories.

I gave workshops to the contestants of the Davina van Wely Competition, the students of the Nationale Master Orkestdirectie in The Hague and students of the Conservatorium of Amsterdam.

Next year, I will work as a coach for the participants of the Schiermonnikoog Festival Young Talent 2023.
