Mart Blom

I started my career as a classical singer. I completed my vocal studies  at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, and worked until 2004 as a professional singer.

Due to an unsuccessful operation on my vocal cords, I was forced to choose a different direction in my life. My fascination for human interaction and individual development led me to further my studies in haptotherapy at the Instituut voor Toegepaste Haptonomie, where I graduated in 2010. Haptotherapy is a form of body-mind oriented therapy.

For a number of years I worked as a haptotherapist for musicians and non-musicians in my own practice in Amsterdam and I became a teacher of stage awareness at the ArtEZ Conservatoire.

As a performance coach I have worked with musicians from the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest, Rotterdams Philharmonisch Orkest, Het Balletorkest and Philharmonie zuidnederland as well as with students of multiple Dutch conservatories.

I have give workshops to the contestants of the Davina van Wely Competition, the students of the Nationale Master Orkestdirectie in The Hague and students of the Conservatorium of Amsterdam.

Next year, I will work as a coach for the participants of the Schiermonnikoog Festival Young Talent 2023.
