Mart Blom

I started my career as a classical singer. I completed my vocal studies  at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, and worked until 2004 as a professional singer.

Due to an unsuccessful operation on my vocal cords, I was forced to choose a different direction in my life. My fascination for human interaction and individual development led me to further my studies in haptotherapy at the Instituut voor Toegepaste Haptonomie, where I graduated in 2010. Haptotherapy is a form of body-mind oriented therapy.

For a number of years I worked as a haptotherapist for musicians and non-musicians in my own practice in Amsterdam and I became a teacher of stage awareness at the ArtEZ Conservatoire.

As a performance coach I work with musicians from the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest, Rotterdams Philharmonisch Orkest, Het Balletorkest and Philharmonie zuidnederland as well as with students of multiple Dutch Conservatoires.

I gave workshops to the contestants of the Davina van Wely Competition, the students of the Nationale Master Orkestdirectie in The Hague and students of the OnAlti Academy as well as the participants of the Young Talent edition of the Schiermonnikoog Chamber Music Festival.

I'm connected as a performance coach to the Hannover Hochschule für Musik, for the class of Prof. Liza Ferschtman.
